  Babylon The Great

  like most jw's, i used to believe that the whore of babylon was christendom, particularly the catholic church.

  that is until i actually saw the whore of babylon in a jazz club in new orleans.

  scary, and it changed my life!

  Demonic Music

  having recently learned of prince becoming a jw, i dug out an old prince lp and played "little red corvette" backwards on my turntable(yes i still have one).

  it was a little garbled but i thought i could faintly make out the words to "we're jehovah's witnesses".

  Carlo CO?

  why did some of us get taken in by the post from carlo?

  because as absurd as the correspondence was, there was a ring of truth to it.

  while it would be unlikely that anyone would be counseled to forget about their new grand baby by a co or elders, i can see some self-righteous witnesses taking the attitude that shunning their knocked up daughter and the resultant baby would be the most loving thing to do.. how sad this is.

  Society Movie from 1967

  in 1967 or 1968 the society had a film out designed for teenagers titled "heritage".

  it was the most pathetic, but hilarious propaganda movie i ever remember seeing.

  does anyone know if this movie is still in existence?

  Apostate vs Evil Slave

  i've been churning this issue over in my mind of late.

  do i want to be considered by the gb as "apostate" or "evil slave"?

  i'm thinking that "apostate" is too mild for the contempt i have for the wts.

  The Infallable, Inspired Word of God

  i have often wondered, if the bible is the infallable word of god and inspired in the minds of men by the mind of god.

  then why is it you can prove or disprove just about anything with it?.

  these are the sorts of questions that cause problems for organizations that claim to also be god's spokesmen.

  Mormonism

  my only exposure to mormonism was a tour my family and i had of the mormon complex in salt lake city a few years back.

  it was very interesting and of course they have the tours conducted by young single mormon women.

  i must say, they don't look like marie osmond.

  my parents became jw's when i was about 2 years old.

  i only had one christmas and i don't remember it that well.

  my father was a chiropractor (strike 2) and worked his ass off and my mother became the religious leader of the family.
